While you're getting ready to dive into the holiday spirit whether it's preparing your Thanksgiving menu or doing some early Christmas shopping, why not make some time to help a dog or cat in need?
Special Pals is collecting items for the upcoming holiday season that will help homeless cats and dogs. You can give a tangible item, either dog food, cat food or other items, or a monetary donation that will go toward medical care for the animals.
A collection has been set up for this Saturday, Nov. 14, from 1 - 3 p.m. at Special Pals, 3830 Greenhouse Road. Here's a list of items you can donate:
* Pedigree dry and wet dog food
* Pedigree puppy food
* Purina dry and wet dog food
* Friskies dry and wet cat food (not shredded or chunks
* Purina dry and wet cat food (not shredded or chunks)
* Kitchen trash bags - 13 gallon size
* Liquid bleach
* Clay cat litter
If you can't come by this weekend to drop off items, Special Pals will also have collections Dec. 5 and Dec. 12 from 1 - 3 p.m. on both days.
