The Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Elks Lodge of Katy held its annual ceremony at the Oaks of Brookshire to honor veterans living at the nursing home.

The ceremony, which was open to the public, included a presentation of the colors as well as a 21-gun salute by the VFW Honor Guard. Guest speaker Glenn Beckydorff, County Commissioner of Precinct 4 in Pattison, and VFW Commander Peyton Lumpkin addressed the group honoring all veterans, especially those who died in the last year.

The Ladies Auxiliary will provide gifts to each veteran residing at Brookshire.
