A Katy woman tried to hire someone to kill her husband but the hit man turned out to be an informer for the Harris County Sheriff's Department, authorities said today.
On Monday, the informer told deputies he was approached by Catherine Shamp, 38, who said she was looking for someone to murder her husband, David Shamp, 38, Harris County sheriff's officials said.
