“We’re looking for team members who can offer great service in a kid and family friendly restaurant,” said Terri Suhr, general manager of the Katy Red Robin restaurant.
Cowboy Red, L.C. is a privately-held franchise of Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. The franchise was founded in 1999 by Robert Reynolds. The company owns and operates seven Red Robin restaurants in Texas, including four in the Houston area.
Lance LaCour, president and chief executive officer of the Katy Area Economic Develoment Council, said Thursday he had just heard of the restaurant coming to Katy.
"There could be some other restaurants coming," said LaCour, adding that the EDC focuses on industrial and office projects.
LaCour said a new restaurant will be opening next spring in LaCenterra.
Construction could start in mid-December on a 7,654-square-foot space overlooking Heritage Square for Las Alamedas Restaurant & Cantina. The Mexican restaurant had operated since 1980 at Voss Road and Interstate 10.
Restauranteur Jorge Sneider and Houston businessman Mike Krehel considered several locations before deciding to relocate to LaCenterra at 23501 Cinco Ranch Blvd.
