Sunday is not only the day that will be celebrated for all things love - it's also the day members of Parkway Fellowship church will celebrate inaugural services in their new building.
After several years of meeting in its temporary sanctuary at Cinco Ranch High School, Parkway Fellowship is finally moved into its permanent home at the corner of FM 1463 and FM 1093. It's the church's first building and rests on a 66-acre wooded tract in the southwest part of the Katy area.
Service begins Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and a special youth program is planned for 9 a.m. The new 700-seat building also has space for church activities including children's programs and Bible studies.
Led by Pastor Mike McGown, Parkway Fellowship is known as a Purpose Driven church and is one of the only of its kind in the Katy area. Purpose Driven churches follow a model created by author and pastor Rick Warren (The Purpose-Driven Life) that provides a biblically-based approach to foster growth.
Parkway Fellowship members helped fund the new building through a campaign that has raised more than $3 million.
Now that Parkway Fellowship has moved into its own building, Cinco Ranch High School is home to the Woodlands Church West campus which kicks off services this Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
