With continued growth and new home construction booming, KatyISD is in the familiar position of having to rezone to accomodate the ever growing population of students it serves.
With that in mind, I think it might be a good time to remind homeowners that there are no guarantees that the school(s), a particular subdivision is zoned to, will always remain the same.
If schools are a major reason for buying in a particular community, and quite often that is the case in Katy, it might be wise to look beyond the next year or two...and don't be afraid to talk to your realtor for advice on the matter.
Schools are usually one of the first things I ask buyers about when helping them find the right neighborhood and home and I always make a point to discuss with them future rezoning possibilities.
