The University of Houston-Downtown plans to begin consolidating some of its off-campus degree programs at Lone Star College’s new University Park location at Texas 249 and Louetta Road in northwest Houston beginning this summer and will stop offering classes at the UH System center at Cinco Ranch and The University Center in The Woodlands beginning fall semester 2010.

UHD will take six degree programs to northwest Houston in June and will add 16 additional degree programs in the fall. UHD will continue to offer classes at Lone Star College’s Cy-Fair and Kingwood campuses.

UHD deans have notified students about the change and will work with students at both locations so they can complete their degrees. Academic advisers will meet with students enrolled at Cinco Ranch on a walk-in basis from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 25. Sessions will be held at the Cinco Ranch facility, 4242 S. Mason Road. About 200 UHD students take classes at Cinco Ranch.

Cinco Ranch students will be able to pursue their degrees through online courses, by going to UHD’s downtown location or by relocating to UHD’s upcoming location at University Park.

UHD is the 13th largest public university in Texas and enrolls just under 13,000 students.
