Oh, how we all love statistics. Here's the latest data on single family homes for the greater Houston area.
The volume, or number of single family homes sold, went up 19.1 percent in May 2010 compared to May 2009. This large jump in economic activity can be attributed, at least in part, to the homebuyer tax credit.
However, the average sold price for a single family home in the greater Houston area dropped slightly from $211,897 in May 2009 to $209,920 in May 2010. A drop of 0.9% or less than 1%.
Of course these are macro numbers for the entire greater Houston area. If you would like information for your neighborhood or zip code, just e-mail me.
