    Forecasters are predicting a busy hurricane season for 2010, as much as 50 percent to 60 percent higher than normal with eight to 14 hurricanes forming and up to seven of those becoming major storms that reach Category 3 or higher.

    Katy residents Paul and Christy Armstrong are looking for their 17-year-old daughter Chasity, who disappeared April 16 and hasn't been heard from since.

    The parents do not believe Chasity ran away because she took nothing with her, not even her cell phone.

    In the city of Katy, overall taxable values decreased by 3.01 percent.

    The projected Katy Independent School District taxable value for 2010 is down 2.36 percent from 2009. When it comes to residential taxable value, however, numbers are up a little. In 2009, the average taxable value of a residential property in KISD was $137,361. This year, it’s $137,609.

    “Katy is one of the strong areas of the county,” said Harris County's assistant chief appraiser Guy Griscom.
