College Baseball: Andrew Stumph, Texas State
Andrew Stumph went 0 for 2 and was walked once in Texas State's 8-3 win over UTSA on Thursday. Stumph graduated from Katy High School in 2009.
Stumph is a 2009 graduate of Katy High School where he was a four-year letter winner and three-time All-State honoree playing for coach Tom McPherson. As a senior (2008-2009) he earned District MVP honors and was an All-American honorable mention selection for the second year in-a-row after receiving the recognition as a junior (2007-2008) when Stumph was also named first-team All-District. As a sophomore (2006-2007) he also earned first-team All-District honors, and as a freshman (2005-2006) he was named the All-Greater Houston co-Newcomer of the Year. The son of Joe Stumph and Janet Morrow, Stumph is majoring in exercise and sports science.
