College Baseball: Ryan Cook, Texas A&M-Kingsville

Ryan Cook went 3 for 4 with three RBIs, one run and two walks in Texas A&M-Kingsville's 12-5 win over East Central on Friday. Cook graduated from Mayde Creek High School in 2008.

A 2008 graduate of Mayde Creek High School, Cook was a two-sport athlete playing baseball and football. On the diamond, he earned first-team all-district honors and had the fifth highest batting average in Houston as a senior, 2007-2008. During his junior campaign, 2006-2007, he collected second-team all-district recognition. Cook helped Mayde Creek to a pair of playoff appearances. Kristie Chin pitched five innings, striking out one and allowing five earned runs Friday in Brown's 7-5 loss at Yale. Chin also went 1 for 3 in the game. Chin is a 2007 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School.

Chin played at Cinco Ranch High School in 2003-2007, lettering four years. She was named the 2007 Houston Athletic Committee's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Third-Team All-Greater Houston. In 2006, she was named the team's MVP while also being named Katy Courier's MVP. Chin is the daughter of Robert Chin and Lorraine Padden. Read more...

Meghan Brown went 1 for 2 with one RBI in West Texas A&M's 17-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico on Friday. Brown is a 2008 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School.

Brown played at Cinco Ranch High School for coach Judy Whillock in 2004-2008, where she lettered all four years. She earned First-Team All-District honors and the Houston Chronicle and Athlete Connection Player of the Week honors. Brown was also selected for her team's MVP award.
