Pro Baseball: Cater William Jurica, San Jose Giants

Cater William Jurica went 2 for 4 with one RBI and scored twice in the San Jose Giants's 12-9 loss at the Modesto Nuts on Wednesday. Jurica graduated from Katy High School.

Jurica is a 2007 graduate of Katy High School. He went on to play college baseball at Kansas State for three seasons (2008 to 2010) posting a career average of .333 with 20 home runs and 131 RBIs. As a junior, 2010, Jurica was named a Big XII Conference all-star left fielder after batting .363 with 13 homers and 69 RBIs. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the third round (105th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft. Jurica played 62 games during 2010 with the Giants Low Single-A affiliate, Salem-Kaiser, of the Northwest League. He batted .216 with three home runs and 31 RBIs. Pro Baseball: Daniel Meadows, Huntsville Stars

Daniel Meadows pitched two innings, striking out four and allowing one earned run Wednesday in the Huntsville Stars's 6-4 loss at the Jackson Generals. Meadows graduated from Cinco Ranch High School.

Meadows in a 2006 graduate of Cinco Ranch High School. He played baseball for two seasons (2007 and 2008) at Temple College before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 49th round (1465th overall) of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft. Meadows complied a 21-14 record with a 3.70 ERA over 90 appearances (17 starts) during his first three seasons (2008 to 2010) in the Brewers' system.
