College Baseball: Jake Pinchback, UT-Arlington

Jake Pinchback went 1 for 3, scored a run and was walked once in UT-Arlington's 6-2 loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday. Pinchback graduated from Seven Lakes High School in 2010.

Pinchback is a 2009 graduate of Seven Lakes High School where he was a three-year varsity letterman for coach Chad Payne. As a senior 2008-2009 he batted .312 at the plate and a 1.82 ERA on the mound where he went 8-3 with 76 strikeouts in 64.0 innings pitched. Pinchback led Seven Lakes to a 16-14 overall record and district runner-up finish as he earned first-team all-district honors and a spot on the Houston Baseball Coaches Association all-star team. As a junior 2007-2008 Pinchback batted .333 and posted a 7-3 record on the mound with a 1.78 ERA. He earned first-team all-district 24-4A recognition as he led Seven Lakes to a bi-district title and third-place finished at the state tournament. Pinchback was also a academic all-district selection. As a sophomore 2006-2007 he was a second-team all-district pick as he hit .300 with three home runs and went 4-2 on the mound. Holly Holl went 0 for 1, scored a run and was walked twice in Baylor University's 3-1 loss at University of Texas at Austin on Thursday. Holl is a 2010 graduate of Katy High School.

Holl played at Katy High School in 2006-2010, where she was named to the Houston Chronicle's 2009 All-Greater Houston Area first-team. She was also a three-time first-team All-District selection (2007, 2008, 2009). In 2008 she was named to the first-team All-District 18-5A, while also helping her team to a record of 35-9 and the 5A state title game. Holl was named to the Houston Chronicle's All-Greater Houston Area first-team and third-team, TXSWA and the 2009 Collin Street Bakery 5A third-team All-State. Stumph is a 2009 graduate of Katy High School where he was a four-year letter winner and three-time All-State honoree playing for coach Tom McPherson. As a senior (2008-2009) he earned District MVP honors and was an All-American honorable mention selection for the second year in-a-row after receiving the recognition as a junior (2007-2008) when Stumph was also named first-team All-District. As a sophomore (2006-2007) he also earned first-team All-District honors, and as a freshman (2005-2006) he was named the All-Greater Houston co-Newcomer of the Year.
