The Katy ISD Board of Trustees has officially turned down the Katy Tea Party Patriots' invitation to address the public on the $459.7 million school bond saying instead the district would host three additional public meetings.

The Tea Party says that’s fine as long as the format allows attendees to “freely” participate and ask questions but if not the group will continue to pressure the board to allow that level of public input.

Did Katy ISD make the right call?

The first day of school marks the first year since 1994 that no education facilities have opened in this district of about 60,000 students and some schools have reached or exceeded capacities.

Does this crowding affect any of you or anyone you know? Are you happy to get back to normal or does the house feel a bit empty without children? What is different for you this year?
