Recently rezoned students from Seven Lakes and Cinco Ranch high schools have until March 12 to take advantage of a one-time Volunteer Enrollment Option if they would like to move to the new high school next year instead of staying in their current school until graduation.

Do you think this whole rezoning process will address the overcrowding at Seven Lakes and boost the under enrollment at Taylor as intended?

A Katy woman accused of trying to hire her daughter's boyfriend to kill her husband pleaded guilty this morning to solicitation of capital murder in exchange for five years deferred adjudication.

Seven Lakes High School has come a long way despite its short history. It opened in Katy in 2005. Hard work and talent has paid off for the young school which recently seized top academic honors at the Texas Academic Decathlon. The nine-member team will represent the state of Texas in the National meet to be held April 21-24 in Omaha, Neb.

Will Seven Lakes be the youngest school from Katy ISD to win first place in the National Academic Decathlon?

Katy ISD has approved a high school rezoning plan that gives students in ninth-11th grade - at Cinco Ranch and Seven Lakes - a one-time voluntary enrollment option to go to the new school in 2010 or they may stay at their current campus under the grandfathering guidelines.

Is this a plan that everyone can live with? Is there any potential for future complications with the voluntary enrollment option?
