SCI Houston to offer wildfire hunter education classes
published Jul. 13, 2012
SCI Houston First for Hunters will offer free wildlife hunter education classes on Aug. 11-12 in Katy.
The classes are designed for children ages 6 and older, but all are welcome to attend. They will cover hunting ethics, conservation practice and wildlife management.
Attendees who pass the class will receive a certificate. The organization reminds hunters that those born after Sept. 2, 1971, are required to take an education and safety course to hunt in the state of Texas.
The deadline to register is Aug. 4. The classes will take place at the Houston Farm and Ranch Club at Bear Creek on Highway 6, north of I-10. A free lunch is included on Aug. 11.
To register for the class or for more detailed information, please visit www.scihouston.org.
