Katy Scout achieves Eagle rank
Taylor High School junior Anurag Gupta, a member of Boy Scout Troop 1146 in Katy, was awarded the Eagle Scout rank.
To fulfill one of the requirements of planning and executing a project for the benefit of the community, Gupta led a group of Scouts in building a walkway to one of the buildings at the Katy Heritage Park.
Gupta has served in his troop in the capacity of Historian, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader. He also was elected by his peers to be a member of the Order of the Arrow.
The Eagle Scout is the highest honor in the Boy Scouts, and the rank is earned by just four percent of all Scouts.
Gupta is the son of Ashok and Lopamudra Gupta, who have lived in Katy for almost 19 years. Troop 1146 is chartered by the Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Community.
