Morton Ranch alum Marshall Bell leads Northwestern Oklahoma State to tournament semifinals
Morton Ranch High School graduate Marshall Bell scored 12 points as Northwestern Oklahoma State defeated John Brown Thursday.
Bell, a sophomore guard, leads the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game.
NOS broke the tie for fourth place in the Sooner Athletic Conference as the Rangers defeated John Brown (Ark.) 73-68 in the first round of the tournament held at Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City.
John Brown entered the game as the No. 4 seed while the Rangers were No. 5 because of tiebreakers, but by night’s end, the Rangers won fourth place outright. The victory puts NOS in an 8 p.m. semifinal game against No. 10 Oklahoma Baptist on Friday, March 4.
Bell played at Morton Ranch High School from 2006-10, where he was the District Offensive MVP. He was First-Team All-District and selected as a First-Team All-District performer his junior year.
He is the son of Andy and Phyllis Bell.
