Cinco Ranch's Nlemchi is 'player of the year'

He is only a junior at Cinco Ranch High School but that hasn't stopped K.C. Nlemchi from strutting his stuff on the football field. His hard work has paid off because the talented running back has been named the Greater Houston High School Football Player of the Year" for the 2009 season.
Nlemchi helped the Cougars achieve their best record in its 10-year history. That's why Nlemchi can't walk the hallways at the school without hearing shouts of admiration from his classmates.
Cinco Ranch went an amazing 13-2 in 2009, falling to Austin Westlake in the State semi-final match-up last week with a game score of 42-27.
Nlemchi has clearly been a standout on the field breaking a single season district record with 29 rushing touchdowns. Katy High School former running back Aundre Dean previously set the record at 28 in 2006.
Nlemchi rushed for a total of 2,388 rushing yards to rank fourth in district history for rushing yards in a season.
Nlemchi wouldn't be the player he is without the guidance of a talented and dedicated leader. Cougars Head Coach Don Clayton also has a feather in his cap. He was named the Touchdown Club Coach of the Year."
Will Cinco Ranch make it all the way to the state championship game next year?
