Eagle Scout from Katy earns 130 merit badges
Eagle Scout Matthew Miller recently became the first Scout to earn all 130 merit badges in the Houston area.
Matthew is involved in all aspects of scouting and is a member of several Scout groups such as the Order of the Arrow and the Boy Scouts' National Honor Society.
Matthew’s accomplishment is not likely to be matched any time soon. Of the 130 badges he earned, four were Historic Merit Badges available only in 2010. In addition to badges, Matthew holds certifications in first aid and lifeguarding.
Matthew has had the opportunity to be one of six Sea Scouts in the country. He has worked in conservation. As a Scout, he has helped repair trails in the largest Boy Scout service project since WWII. He has also attended National Youth Leadership Training.
