Rover Oaks delivers turkeys to pets at Katy animal shelter
Animals at the Citizens for Animal Protection shelter celebrated Thanksgiving by eating turkey on Nov. 22, thanks to the staff at Rover Oaks pet resort.
According to a press release, staff members roasted turkeys at their Houston and Katy resorts and brought the food to the animals, which are available for adoption.
In 2007, Rover Oaks began serving home-cooked turkey to dogs and cats staying at the resort during Thanksgiving. Two years ago, co-owners Joy Lee and Steve Smith decided to expand the service to include pets at the shelter.
“The staff at Rover Oaks put a lot of effort and love into this annual project,” Smith said in the release, “It is so rewarding to be able to brighten the holidays for these loving animals. We strongly encourage everyone to visit the animals at CAP and consider adopting, volunteering or donating to this great organization.”
