Katy grocer blamed for broken hip
A Katy-area grocery store is being sued over claims its failure to provide customers with a safe shopping environment caused a woman to break her hip.
Sandra L. Richards filed a lawsuit on Dec. 29 in Harris County District Court against Brookshire Brothers, citing negligence.
Richards says on Dec. 31, 2009, she sustained injuries, including a broken hip, while grocery shopping at Brookshire Brothers, located at 5249 Franz Road in Katy. According to the brief, her hip broke when she tripped over a pallet hidden by a cabbage display.
Richards is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Tim Weltin.
