Former nurse assistant accuses attorney of malpractice
A certified nurse assistant is suing after, he says, his attorney failed to represent him properly in a case against a Katy-area nursing home.
Gamayiel Harris filed a lawsuit on Dec. 30 in Harris County District Court against Troy J. Pradia and the Cox Pradia Law Firm, citing negligence.
Harris says on March 21, Heritage Park of Katy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center wrongfully terminated him after he filed a police report stating he witnessed a co-worker abusing a patient.
According to the brief, Harris hired Pradia to represent him in his wrongful termination suit against Heritage Park, but Pradia failed to file the claim within the time allowed.
Harris is seeking actual and exemplary damages, as well as court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Mickel Newton, Jr.
