KVPAC granted status as Continuing Education Provider
The State Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency have designated Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center as a Continuing Education Provider.
All Texas teachers are required to complete 150 clock hours of professional development every five years.
“We are really excited about offering this service to Katy teachers, and it’s gratifying to see that Texas educators are really beginning to embrace the arts and its importance in education,” said KVPAC’s Executive Artistic Director Gregory Magyar in a press release.
KVPAC will begin offering professional development this month with its production of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” which opens on Friday, Jan. 13.
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Jan. 13, Jan. 14, Jan. 20 and Jan. 21; and at 2 p.m. on Jan. 15 and Jan. 22.
Teachers who attend the play and want CPE hours will need to fill out a brief survey after the play.

KVPAC is located at 2501 S. Mason Road.
