Katy bar, Richmond resident sued over alleged attack
A bar in Katy is being sued after a seemingly intoxicated customer from Richmond allegedly sucker-punched another customer.
Robert Wesley Hayden filed a lawsuit on Jan. 13 in the Harris County District Court against Mo’s Place, of Katy, and Richmond resident Matthew Paul Johnson and cited gross negligence.
The suit alleges that on Oct. 9, 2011, an intoxicated Johnson sucker-punched Hayden as he socialized with women at Mo’s Place, located at 21940 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy.
Before the alleged attack, Mo’s continued to serve Johnson alcohol even though he allegedly appeared intoxicated and was “mouthing off” as he sat at the bar, according to the brief.
Hayden is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Jay S. Pearlman.
