Katy man accuses Memorial company of age discrimination
A Katy man is suing after, he says, his employer in Memorial retaliated against him for reporting age discrimination.
Katy resident Virgil Newton filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, Jan. 18 in the Harris County District Court against Memorial-area Eventure Global Technology, citing discrimination and retaliation.
Newton says on Dec. 20, 2010, Eventure Global, his employer of eight years, fired him after he complained about management favoring younger employees. According to the brief, Newton endured humiliation and degradation as a result of the defendant’s discriminatory behavior.
Newton is seeking damages, attorney’s fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney John-Baptist Sekumade.
