Faith West and Klein Collins HS grads Flores and Schreier lead Texas Lutheran to victory
Klein Collins and Faith West High School graduates led Texas Lutheran to a 78-75 win over Howard Payne on the college hardwood Thursday.
Klein Collins graduate Michael Flores scored 15 points, hauled in three rebounds, tallied three steals and dished out five assists in the win.
Flores is the son of Mike and Debbie Flores. He played for Coach Tim Schumacher at Klein Collins. Michael was named a Second Team All-District selection as well as an Academic All-State selection. A Team captain at the All-Tournament selection in the Texas Invitational, he was a three-year letterman as well as in the top 15 percent in his class.
Faith West graduate Ryan Schreier grabbed five boards, notched three assists and garnered one steal in the victory.
Schreier played at Faith West Academy for coach Craig Upchurch from 2004 to 2008, where he was First-Team All-State from 2007 to 2008 and First-Team All-District in 2005 as well as 2008. Schreier was MVP in both his sophomore and senior years. He is the son of Mike and Betty Schreier.
