State of Texas sues Katy man, says store is a 'public nuisance'
The state of Texas is seeking injunctive relief after, it says, a Katy man harbors criminal activity at his downtown convenience store.
The State of Texas filed a lawsuit on Jan. 25 in Harris County District Court against Katy resident Jae Kim and 2111 Fannin St., citing a public nuisance.
The state claims Kim habitually harbors criminal activity at his Texaco convenience store, known as Fannin Texaco or Tigermart Texaco. Houston Police say since August 2011, the store generated more than 200 complaints of criminal activity, including assault, drugs, prostitution and robbery, according to the brief.
Texas is seeking injunctive relief, damages and attorney’s fees, among other things. It is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Laura Cahill.
