Livestock Show and Rodeo announces schedule
The 69th annual Katy Independent School District Future Farmers of America Livestock Show and Rodeo will be held from Feb. 22 through Feb. 25 at the Fairgrounds at Interstate 10 and FM 1463 next to the Merrell Center in Katy.
WEST Engineering will sponsor the rodeo, which kicks of its season with the opening of the carnival and the Katy ISD Students Spirit Night at 5 p.m. Feb. 23.
Pro rodeo performances will begin at 7 p.m. Feb. 23-25 and includes a calf scramble, mutton busting and stick horse races for youth each night, followed by traditional bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding, team roping and more. The Katy Rodeo was named Cowboys Choice Rodeo of 2010 by the CPRA.

3 p.m.: Lamb Show
7 p.m.: Rodeo Performance
Friday, Feb. 24
7:30 a.m.: Broiler Show
8 a.m.: Steer Show
9:30 a.m.: Special Rodeo
Noon: Ag Mechanics and Horticulture Show
2 p.m.: Barn Sale
7 p.m.: Rodeo Performance
Saturday, Feb. 25
8 a.m.: Barn Sale
9:30 a.m.: Parade
11 a.m.: Buyers Luncheon
1 p.m.: Auction
7 p.m.: Rodeo Performance
Katy ISD's Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade will take place at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 25 along the route that stretches from Rhodes Stadium to the Leonard E. Merrell Center.
