Encore Players to hold auditions at KVPAC
The Encore Players will hold auditions for their presentation of Molière's "Lovers' Quarrels," directed by Kimberly Glover, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19 and Tuesday, March 20 at KVPAC, 2501 S. Mason Road, Katy.
Actors will receive callbacks on March 21.
The play, translated by Richard Wilbur, is a complex 17th-century French farce about deception and misunderstanding that features a young woman named Ascagne who has spent her life in disguise as a man so she can receive an inheritance.
The Encore Players seek men and women for 12 roles: Ascagne, a young woman who disguises herself as a man; Valre, a male suitor; Lucile, Ascagne's sister; Mascarille, Valre's man servant; Raste, a young man who jealously loves Lucile; Gros-Ren, Raste's valet; Marinette, Lucile's maid; Albert, Lucile and Ascagne's father; Polidore, Valere's father; Frosine, confidant to Ascagne; Metaphraste, a pedant; and La Rapiere, a bravo.
