VIPS Celebration Breakfast speakers tied to Giffords

Katy ISD Partners in Education announced the three speakers at the annual VIPS Celebration Breakfast, to be held from 9-10:30 a.m. May 1 at the Leonard E. Merrell Center, 6301 South Stadium Lane in Katy.

TIRR Memorial Hermann music therapist Meagan Morrow, clinical coordinator Dawn Phillips and speech pathologist Kelley Warren Kirst will speak at the event. Participants may recognize the three professionals from news features detailing the recovery of U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot during a public appearance.

The breakfast will also include an announcement of each campus volunteer of the year, along with special performances by Katy ISD student groups. The event is held each year to honor the thousands of volunteers in the district who donate their time each year.
