Eighth-grader defines being team player
Collin Wilder, an eighth-grader at Katy Junior High, is on his school’s track team and excels at sports. Two things that are important to him are athletics and personal relationships. “I am most proud of my teammates,” he said. “They are the hardest working group of guys I have ever been around. I am indebted to my coaches, because they have built character as well as sports knowledge.”

Favorite class: “Teen Leadership. Because I like being around Coach Allen and learning about qualities of good leaders.”
Favorite things to do after class: “Work out and hang out with family.”
Favorite website: “ESPN.com, it keeps me up to date on sports related info.”
Favorite TV show: “ ‘Biggest Loser.’ It is fun watching the results of the contestants’ hard work and efforts.”
Favorite movie: “ ‘Remember the Titans.’ I like everything about it. It is a classic.”
Ambition: “I would love to play in the National Football League! I want to be known as the guy who changed and affected the lives of others in a positive way.”
