Christus St. Catherine Hospital benefits from Girls gala

A gala held April 20 by the Support the Girls breast cancer awareness organization raised funds for Christus St. Catherine Hospital.

Attendees of the event purchased $75 tickets or tables for $750 and all proceeds went to support the organization.

Support the Girls is a Katy nonprofit organization. This year's gala held at the Weston Lakes Country Club was the second benefit the organization hosted for the Christus St. Catherine Hospital Breast Cancer Awareness Fund.

According to a press release, Support the Girls was created by a group of Katy-area women who got together in 2010 to address the health care needs of women in West Houston.

The group now consists of Katy community leaders, business professionals, civic liaisons and educators focused on making the Katy area a healthier community, the press release stated.
