Volunteers of the Year honored by Katy ISD

Katy ISD Volunteers of the Year, who donated more than 761,000 hours, were honored by the district during a Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) breakfast.

Katy ISD recognized its Volunteers of the Year for the 2011-2012 school year during its Volunteers in Public Schools breakfast on Tuesday, May 1.

Katy ISD's approximately 14,700 volunteers provided a combined total of more than 761,321 service hours to the district, equating to more than $16.6 million in resources.

To honor those exceptional volunteers, each Katy ISD campus selects a Volunteer of the Year. Speakers at this year's event included music therapist Meagan Morrow, clinical coordinator Dawn Phillips and speech pathologist Kelley Warren Kirst from TIRR Memorial Hermann.
