Katy High School student places first in culinary event
Meagan Peoples placed first in a culinary event, beating out 14 other competitors from across the state.
Meagan Peoples, a student at Katy High School, won first place in a culinary competition presented by Miller Career and Technology Center and the Family, Community Career Leaders of America.
In the "State Mystery Basket" competition, students were given a mystery basket with two ingredients. They then had one hour to plan, create and prepare an entrée (protein, starch and vegetable) using the two mystery ingredients and others available in a pantry.
Peoples competed against 14 other students from throughout the state.
