Katy bar blamed for drunken-driving accident injuries

A Harris County man is suing a bar, with locations in Katy and Humble, after an alleged drunken driver caused an automobile accident.

Samuel Fischer filed a lawsuit on Wednesday, June 6 in the Harris County District Court against Coaches Sports Bar & Grill Katy and Coaches Sports Bar & Grill Humble, citing negligence.

Fischer says on June 15, 2010, he sustained serious injuries in an automobile accident on West Lake Houston and Kings Crossing, caused by drunken driver Nadia Luger. Prior to the accident, Coaches Sports Bar & Grill Humble allegedly overserved alcohol to an obviously intoxicated Luger and then allowed her to drive away from the premises, according to the brief.

Harris County District Court Case No. 2012-33100.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed at the Harris County Courthouse. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt, and it only represents one side of the story.
