Katy grill blamed for falling drop bucket calamity

A man is suing after, he says, a drop bucket fell on top of him at a Katy-area grill.

Douglas Calame filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, June 12 in the Harris County District Court against Sparkle Sign Co. and 9ers Grill in Katy, citing negligence.

Calame says on Feb. 22, a drop bucket hit his head and chipped his tooth as he and his young daughter exited 9ers Grill, located 23225 Kingsland Blvd. in Katy. A Sparkle Sign employee was operating the drop bucket, under the direction of a 9ers Grill manager, when the accident occurred, according to the brief.

Calame is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Andrew Sher.
