Gas prices in and around Katy were lower compared to the averages for Houston and the country as a whole this week, according to data from the price-tracking website gasbuddy.com.
Visitors to the gasbuddy.com website reported rates for 62 gas stations in and around Katy. As of Saturday, June 16, the average price of regular unleaded gas in Katy is $3.284 per gallon. Gasbuddy.com listed the Texas average at $3.274, Houston average at $3.306 and the nationwide average at $3.536.
The average gas price in Katy last week was $3.335 per gallon.
The least expensive gas price in Katy is reported to be $3.19 for a gallon of regular unleaded gas, which a gasbuddy.com contributor logged as being available at Shell, 20449 FM-529 and North Fry Road.
A gasbuddy.com user reported the most expensive gas price in the area at $3.45, which was being sold at Shell, 23255 Kingsland Blvd. and South Grand Parkway.
