Wellness screenings offered at St. Bartholomew
St. Bartholomew the Apostle Catholic Church in Katy will host three days of wellness screening from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 23-25.
Up to nine ultrasound, color-flow doppler screenings will be performed by practitioners from Scan Specialists.
Arteries on both sides of the neck will be scanned for fatty plaque buildup and blockage, the No. 1 cause of stroke. A thyroid scan will check for cysts or tumors. The main artery of the heart will be checked for aneurysms. Other scans available will be for the liver, spleen, kidneys, gallbladder and arteries in the legs.
The average cost in a hospital is $800 per screening. Participants in this screening will pay $45 each or $189 for all nine screenings.
The screening event is being provided so that debilitating conditions can be prevented by early detection.
St. Bartholomew is located at 5356 11th St. in Katy.
