Katy runners complete First Colony Freedom 5K
Nine runners from Katy completed the First Colony Freedom 5K on July 4 in Sugar Land.
The Katy runners who participated in the race are: Trey Elliott, 32, (20:46); Lynn Malloy, 52, (22:50); Anthony Johnson, 40, (26:12); David Malloy, 17, (27:09); Oliver Capito, 38, (27:34); Vicki Mayo, 40, (33:22); Marie Thompson, 42, (35:00); Jamie Bennefeld, 28, (40:56); and Debbie Newman, 59, (42:13).
A total of 739 runners finished the 5K race, which was held in Lost Creek Park. The proceeds of the race will benefit the Fort Bend Corps.
Jeremy Green was the men’s overall winner with a time of 17:19, and Kylee Short was the women’s winner in 18:03.
