KVPAC announces auditions for 'The Fantasticks'
Auditions will soon be held at the Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center for the upcoming performance of 'The Fantasticks.'
According to a press release, the show is about two neighboring fathers who trick their children into falling in love by pretending to feud.
There are eight parts open, including parts for male and female actors/singers. The roles that need to be filled are for El Gallo (the narrator/bandit), Matt (the boy), Luisa (the girl), Hucklebee (the boy's father), Bellomy (the girl's father), Henry (the old actor), Mortimer (the man who dies) and the mute (who also acts the part of the wall).
Those interested should prepare a short monologue not exceeding three minutes and 16 bars of a song to demonstrate vocal range, according to the press release. If possible, those auditioning should also bring a headshot and resume.
All participants must be 17 or older.
Auditions will be held in 30-minute slots from 7-9 p.m. Aug. 7-8 at the KVPAC, located at 2501 S. Mason Road in Katy.
