Katy ISD board announces new secondary curriculum director
Rhonda Ward has been hired by the Katy Independent School District’s Board of Education as the district’s new executive director of secondary curriculum and instruction.
She will leave her position as associate principal for Seven Lakes High School and transition into her new role prior to the start of the upcoming academic year.
Before working at Seven Lakes, Ward was the assistant principal and interim principal for Cinco Ranch Junior High. She has been employed by the Katy ISD since 1983 and has served the district in multiple roles, including playing a major part in the opening of three Katy ISD campuses: McDonald Junior High, Cinco Ranch Junior High and Seven Lakes High School.
Ward has a Bachelor of Science in physical education from Texas A&M University, a Master of Education in physical education with an emphasis in administration from Texas A&M University, and a mid-management certification from Prairie View A&M University.
