Registration open for Katy Pony Baseball
Registration is open for Katy’s Pony Baseball League.
The Katy Pony Baseball league offers two different types of play. The Regular League is designed for individuals and centers on the recreational aspect of play. The Open League is more competitive and centered around independent teams.
Katy Pony Baseball is a non-profit organization for players ages 4-17. Certified umpires, concessions personnel, professional groundskeepers, professional playing fields, graduated pitching and open bases are available for most age levels.
Players are assigned to a division based on their age as of April 30, 2013, but some players may move up to higher age divisions under special circumstances.
An Open League is also available for select or tournament teams.
The costs are $100 for Shetland 4/5 t-ball players, $115 for Shetland 6 t-ball players and $125 for all other ages up to 17. A $10 discount will be given for additional registered family members. Players registered after Aug. 22 will be charged a $25 late fee.
Registration is available online through Aug. 20. Walk-in registration will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 18 at Frozen Ropes, 20000 Park Row or from 6-8:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Academy, 23155 Katy Freeway.
Tryouts will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 25 with assigned times to be given. The player draft will begin on Aug. 28 with the season starting up on Saturday, Sept. 22.
Most divisions will play one game on a weeknight and one game on Saturdays each week. Most divisions will also have a post-season tournament.
