Katy ISD posts bus schedules, opens transportation hotline

The Katy Independent School District will post bus schedules online and open a transportation hotline for parents Monday, Aug. 6.

The Katy ISD website will allow parents to look up their children's bus schedules, including bus numbers and stops, transportation eligibility and drop-off and pick-up times.

The hotline will be open to parents' inquiries about the guidelines of transportation eligibility. The hotline can be reached at 281-396-6008.

Elementary students must live far enough away from their school's property to be eligible for provided transportation. Secondary students must live outside an approximate one-mile radius from their school. Buses will still be available to students with hazardous conditions between their home and school property.

The Katy ISD Board of Trustees approved the requirement changes in May to address the growth of students using transportation services and the low number of available bus drivers.
