Details released on Katy Rice Harvest Festival
The Katy Rice Harvest Festival has announced key events of the festival on Oct. 13 and 14.
Five bands have been announced for Saturday, Oct. 13. DunVille will play from 2:30-4 p.m., followed by the Trishas until 6 p.m. The Silverado Band will play from 6:30-8 p.m., the Folk Family Revival from 8:30-10 p.m. and the Scooter Brown Band will close out the night with a performance from 10:30 p.m. to midnight.
Three bands are lined up for Sunday, Oct. 14. The Yelba & Latin Fire will start off from at 12:30 p.m., followed by the Mambo Jazz Kings from 2:30-4 p.m. and Bri Bagwell from 4:30-6 p.m.
The Carnival will be open for most of Friday night, from 10 a.m. to midnight on Saturday night, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The Annual Parade, the Katy Rice Harvest Festival Cooking Competition and the Photography Contest will all be held on Saturday.
Tickets for the festival cost $8 for adults and children older than 10. A dollar from each ticket sold will go to the City of Katy Annual Fireworks Display, as well as to several area schools.
More than 325 vendors will be present, with commercial and handcrafted vendor booths still available.
