Katy Wal-Mart blamed for customer's injuries
A Harris County woman is suing after, she says, she was injured while shopping at the Katy-area Wal-Mart.
Veronica Machuca filed a lawsuit on July 31 in the Harris County District Court against Wal-Mart Stores, citing negligence.
Machuca says on Dec. 28, 2011, she was seriously injured while shopping for a desk at Wal-Mart, located at 6060 N. Fry Road, Katy. The suit alleges the injuries occurred when a piece of furniture slid off a broken shelf towards her.
Machuca is seeking damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Timothy Hightower.
