Katy man sued over GTM Kit Car
A Katy man is being sued after he allegedly sold a $100,000 car that did not belong to him.
David Huber filed a lawsuit on Aug. 1 in Harris County District Court against Katy resident Matt Mecum and Matt Mecum Transportation, citing conversion.
Huber says the defendants, without permission, sold his 2008 GTM Kit Car after he hired them to make repairs on the vehicle.
The sale followed Huber's refusal to pay the defendants for their work because it was allegedly incomplete and defective, according to the brief.
Huber claims he discovered the vehicle had been sold after a court ordered Mecum to return it to him.
Huber is seeking $100,000, as well as punitive damages. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Joe Sibley.
