Fatal shooting at Katy nightclub leads to wrongful death suit
A father is suing after, he says, the negligence of a Katy nightclub resulted in the shooting death of his son.
Carey Knight filed a wrongful death lawsuit on Aug. 3 in Harris County District Court against Rosa Angelica Chacon, doing business in Katy as El Coyote V.I.P.
Knight says on May 25, a suspect shot and killed his son, Christopher Taveres Knight, at or near El Coyote, located at 4240 Highway 6 North in Katy. The suit alleges the negligence of the employees or the owner of the club resulted in his death.
Knight is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Baytown attorney Scott Lannie.
