Ravenna resident wins state duck-calling contest
Clint Park Johnson of Ravenna, Tex., took home top prize at the Texas State Champion Duck Calling Contest on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World in Katy. Facing competition from 11 different Texas cities, Johnson picked up his third championship title and moved on the world championship contest, to be held in Stuttgart, Ark., during Thanksgiving weekend. Johnson used an ECHO duck call to grab top honors. Humble's Arthur Miller was runner-up using his RNT call and Derrick Moore of Dallas took third with a BETTS call. Miller will play a reserve role for the world championship if Johnson cannot compete.
