Katy Family YMCA seeks volunteers for Turkey Dash
The Katy Family YMCA is teaming up with The Fellowship at Cinco Ranch to host the 10th annual Turkey Dash on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22.
The event will feature a 10-kilometer race to mark the event's 10th anniversary, along with a kids' race, a 5-kilometer run and a 1-mile walk/run, according to the release.
The kids' race will begin at 7:10 a.m., followed by the 10-kilometer race at 7:45 a.m., the 5-kilometer race at 8:05 a.m. and the 1-mile walk/run at 9:15 a.m. The races start and end at the Katy Family YMCA, at the corner of Westheimer Parkway and Peek Road, one block off the Grand Parkway in Cinco Ranch, according to the release.
Other highlights include awards in age categories for the kids' race and 10K and 5K events. A party after the races will include door prizes and complimentary refreshments as well as a Kids Fun Zone with a rock wall, moonwalks and a visit from Santa, according to the release.
Volunteers are being sought to help staff the event and sponsorships are available.
Sponsors so far include presenting sponsor Reliant and title sponsors Grand Vision, Texas Children's Hospital West Campus and Dr. Bruscia's Family Foot & Ankle Wellness Center.
